Trout Lake Station's 2nd Annual Open House was a huge success. With over 200 guests, scientists got to show their summer research, along with fundamental lake biology. Visitors got to try their hand at plant and fish identification, zooplankton sampling, and get creative with crafts!

    UW graduate student Ryan Batt explains how a secchi disk is used to determine water clarity in a lake.
    It doesn't take long for a swarm of kids to surround the tub, clamoring for a chance to hold a fish.
    This summer, the Center for Limnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, welcomed 400 people to it's two places of work for our open houses. We look forward to showing even more people what it is we do and what the study if inland waters looks like in 2013.
